Ultra Guard
Ultra Guard Waterbased Polyurethane is a water-based polyurethane-acrylic protective varnish reinforced with silica. It protects surfaces by increasing durability and resistance to abrasion. This varnish is odourless, non-yellowing, easy to use and has excellent coverage. Available in two finishes: Flat & Satin.
HOW TO USE:
It can be applied on interior water-based paints and all types of bare wood. It is suitable for furniture, worktables, wood floors and other interior surfaces. Its whitish colour will become transparent when drying and will enhance the colour of the surface (wet effect). Can be used on both light and dark colours.
For painted surfaces, clean and degrease using TSP Alternative. If freshly painted wait 24-48 hrs before applying Ultra Guard Waterbased Polyurethane.
For bare wood, sand smooth with 120 grit.
Prior to application all surfaces should be free of wax, varnish or other types of contaminants. Always remove dust after sanding prior to application.
APPLICATION:
Mix thoroughly with a stick. Wait 20 minutes before applying.
Apply with a synthetic bristle brush or a microfiber roller. Sand lightly with 220 grit between coats.
NUMBER OF COATS:
2 on paint.
3 on bare wood and non-sealing stain.
DRYING TIME:
Between coats: 3 to 48 hrs (after 48 hrs, a light sanding with 220 grit is necessary before applying another coat).
On bare wood only, apply second coat after 3 hours without sanding.
Before Sanding: wait 6 to 8 hours.
Careful use: 24 hours.
Complete curing: 7 to 10 days.
